The McCaysville community is rallying around Captain Brantley Worley, who remains in stable condition after being shot in the face Friday night while responding to a call.

 

According to McCaysville Police Chief, Worley’s condition has not worsened, and the brain bleed he suffered has remained unchanged. Doctors are closely monitoring his progress and awaiting results from his latest CT scan. They are also considering surgery on his nose to help improve his breathing, as the injury caused a severe break.

 

Worley, who was promoted to captain in July, is more than just a dedicated officer. He is also a volunteer firefighter, an ordained minister, a little league coach, a husband, and a father — roles that have made him a beloved figure in his community.

 

Neighbors, friends, and family are holding on to hope and keeping him in their prayers as he continues his fight for recovery.
