The actress, 58, and the country singer, 57, have split, according to a source that told People<\/a>: \u2018Nicole\u2019s sister [Antonia] has been a rock and the entire Kidman family has come together to support one another.\u2019<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u2018She didn\u2019t want this,\u2019 they continued, talking about Nicole. \u2018She has been fighting to save the marriage.\u2019<\/p>\n

TMZ first reported the news, with sources saying the couple has been living apart since the beginning of summer.<\/p>\n

They continued, claiming: \u2018Nicole has been taking care of their 2 children and, holding the family together through this difficult time since Keith has been gone.\u2019<\/p>\n

The couple tied the knot in June 2006 and\u00a0have welcomed two daughters together<\/a>\u00a0in that time, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.<\/p>\n

Nicole and Keith first met in January 2005 at the G\u2019Day USA gala in\u00a0Los Angeles<\/a>, an event celebrating Australians in Hollywood.<\/p>\n

At the time, Kidman was already an Oscar-winning actress and Urban a rising country music star.<\/p>\n

Though both later admitted they felt an instant spark, Urban has confessed that he waited a few months before mustering the courage to call her.<\/p>\n

\u2018Somebody had given me her number, and I had it in my pocket for awhile,\u2019 he said on Australian talk show\u00a0Interview<\/a>\u00a0in 2018.<\/p>\n

\u2018I kept looking at it thinking, \u201cIf I call this number, she\u2019s going to answer. I don\u2019t know what [to] say.\u201d I wasn\u2019t in a very healthy place in my life \u2026 I\u2019d never have thought she\u2019d see anything in a guy like me.<\/p>\n

\u2018But, at some point, I plucked up the courage to [dial] those numbers, and she answered, and we started talking. And we talked and talked and talked and talked, and it was effortless.\u2019<\/p>\n

Their romance quickly deepened, and by May 2006, they announced their engagement.<\/p>\n

Just a month later, on June 25, 2006, the couple married in a lavish yet intimate ceremony at St. Patrick\u2019s Estate in Sydney,\u00a0Australia<\/a>, surrounded by family, friends, and fellow celebrities.<\/p>\n

Not long after the wedding, they faced an early challenge when Urban entered rehab for\u00a0alcohol<\/a>\u00a0abuse, with Kidman standing firmly by his side.<\/p>\n
