Kid Rock Surprises Detroit Crowd with Kenny Chesney Duet at Ford Field Kid Rock may be keeping a lighter tour schedule this summer, but he made a memorable appearance on Saturday (Aug. 13) when he joined Kenny Chesney on stage during the Spread the Love tour stop at Ford Field\u2014right in his hometown of Detroit.<\/p>\n

Chesney introduced Rock to the crowd as \u201ca brother,\u201d even joking about a past incident where Rock \u201cpissed off my Uncle Buck\u201d during an earlier meeting. Dressed in a lightweight fedora and a Detroit Lions vest, Kid Rock stepped out to roaring applause.<\/p>\n

The two launched into a brief cover of The Allman Brothers Band\u2019s \u201cMidnight Rider\u201d before transitioning into Rock\u2019s iconic hit \u201cCowboy,\u201d sending the nearly 46,000 fans in the stadium into a frenzy. As Rock exited the stage, he nearly left behind his Lions vest\u2014until Chesney handed it back with a smile. Chesney\u2019s Spread the Love tour continues with five more stops, including a two-night finale at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA (Aug. 26\u201327), and a show at Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee on Sept. 9. His new album Cosmic Hallelujah is scheduled for release on October 28.<\/p>\n
