Sad news for fans of\u00a0Star Trek: The Next Generation<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Falcon Crest<\/em>\u2014actress Jill Jacobson has passed away. The Texas-born actress is probably most known for her role as Erin Jones on\u00a0Falcon Crest<\/em>, where she appeared in over 20 episodes.<\/p>\n

Jacobson also appeared in\u00a0Star Trek: The Next Generation<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Star Trek: Deep Space Nine<\/em>, leaving a lasting impression on viewers everywhere.<\/p>\n

Died on December 8<\/h2>\n

She grew up in Beaumont and Dallas, Texas. After finishing school, she set her sights on an acting career and moved to Los Angeles, where she landed her first major role as the title character in\u00a0Nurse Sherri<\/em>\u00a0in 1977.<\/p>\n

Beyond her acting, Jill also showed her creative flair behind the scenes as an executive producer for projects like\u00a0The Circle<\/em>\u00a0and the 2014 short film\u00a0Mic Whore.<\/em><\/p>\n

The actress\u2019 passing was confirmed by her longtime friend, Dan Harary, who shared the sad news with\u00a0The Hollywood Reporter.<\/em> He revealed that Jill passed away on December 8 at Cedars-Sinai\u2019s Culver West Health Center after battling a long-term illness.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on her loss, Dan said, \u201cShe will be deeply missed by numerous relatives, friends and her beloved dogs, Benny and Kowalski.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jill Jacobson cause of death<\/h2>\n

The exact cause of the\u00a0Falcon Crest<\/em>\u00a0star\u2019s death has not been disclosed at this time. What we do know is that Jill\u2019s friend, Dan Harary, confirmed that the actress passed away after battling a long-term illness.<\/p>\n

In September 2024, Jill revealed that she had undergone treatment for\u00a0esophageal cancer, describing the experience as incredibly challenging. Jill lived with the disease for over two and a half years.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat I went through was pretty intense. You can\u2019t function, you just can\u2019t function,\u201d she said while appearing on the YouTube show\u00a0The Jim Masters Show<\/em>.<\/p>\n

But she managed to turn the devastating health diagnosis into something positive \u2013 which wasn\u2019t an easy feat at first.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been a secret. Kind of took me out of the game for a while,\u201d she said \u201cIt was esophageal cancer. It took like two, two and a half years of treatment.\u201d<\/p>\n

After being diagnosed with cancer, Jacobson became a dedicated volunteer and spokesperson for the American Cancer Society. Her efforts earned her numerous awards for her advocacy work, according to\u00a0The Independent.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd now I\u2019m so grateful, I just want to keep going, I want to help people. It makes you want to help people,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Sadly, Jill Jacobson\u2019s journey came to an end at the age of 70. Her manager, Ben Padua, confirmed the heartbreaking news to\u00a0Entertainment Weekly.<\/p>\n

\u201dWe are incredibly sad to say goodbye to our beautiful, soulful, hysterically funny, elegantly raunchy client, Jill Jacobson,\u201d Padua shared in a statement to EW. \u201dJill was a total spitfire of an actress with comedic timing straight out of a Marx Brothers\u2019 flick and Hollywood glamor right from its golden age.\u201d<\/p>\n
