Diddy\u2019s mother argued that though the rapper \u201cmade mistakes in the past, as we all have,\u201d he is \u201cnot the monster they have painted him to be, according to the BBC on Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is heartbreaking to see my son judged not for the truth, but for a narrative created out of lies.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is truly agonising to watch the world turn against my son so quickly and easily over lies and misconceptions, without ever hearing his side or affording him the opportunity to present his side,\u201d read a statement attributed to Janice and the Combs family and issued by her lawyer, Natlie Figgers.<\/p>\n

The rapper and owner of record label, Bad Boy Records, was\u00a0arrested<\/a>\u00a0on Monday, September 16, by federal agents in New York after facing months of civil lawsuits alleging sex trafficking, sexual abuse and rape.<\/p>\n

Combs, who was denied bail twice, is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Centre in Brooklyn.<\/p>\n

According to the Southern District of New York, the three major charges against Diddy in a legal indictment are racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion and transportation to engage in prostitution.<\/p>\n

According to The Independent, federal prosecutors in an indictment,\u00a0accused<\/a>\u00a0Diddy and his associates of coercing and abusing women to fulfil his sexual desires, including forcing victims into recorded sexual activities, which he allegedly called \u201cFreak Outs.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMy son may not have been entirely truthful about certain things, such as denying he has ever gotten violent with an ex-girlfriend when the hotel\u2019s surveillance showed otherwise.<\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes, the truth and a lie become so closely intertwined that it becomes terrifying to admit one part of the story, especially when that truth is outside the norm or is too complicated to be believed.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is why I believe my son\u2019s civil legal team opted to settle the ex-girlfriend\u2019s lawsuit instead of contesting it until the end, resulting in a ricochet effect as the federal government used this decision against my son by interpreting it as an admission of guilt,\u201d she stated, referencing the \u2018I\u2019ll Be Missing You\u2019 crooner when a video obtained by CNN showed Diddy\u00a0physically assaulting<\/a>\u00a0his former girlfriend, Casandra \u2018Cassie\u2019 Ventura, in a hotel hallway in 2016.<\/p>\n

The music business mogul, who signed one of rap music legends, the late Christopher Wallace, aka Notorious BIG, is currently being held in a Manhattan detention centre after being denied bail.<\/p>\n
