High school is when you have dances, proms, and graduations that you\u2019ll always remember.<\/p>\n

But for Josephine in Camarillo, California, she missed out on going to her prom in 1961.<\/p>\n

Now, her grandson, Michael Ganczewski, wanted to make things special. During his senior prom, he decided to give his grandma the prom experience she missed out on.<\/p>\n

Ganczewski found out that his grandma couldn\u2019t go to her prom because of money issues. So, when he was about to have his own prom in two weeks and didn\u2019t have a date, he thought of making it special for his dear grandma.<\/p>\n

He asked Josephine to be his prom date, but she said no at first. She told him that she was just happy to feel loved during Mother\u2019s Day weekend.<\/p>\n

But Ganczewski didn\u2019t give up. He convinced his grandma, and on the day of the prom, Josephine wore a beautiful dress with a corsage. Even though she was worried about her dancing skills, she soon realized that the joy of the night was just being with her grandson.<\/p>\n

In an interview with CBS Los Angeles, Ganczewski shared his love for his grandmother, calling her the most important woman in his life. He explained that without her, his mom wouldn\u2019t be here, and he wouldn\u2019t exist. Josephine, in turn, talked about her initial response to her grandson\u2019s proposal, mentioning she thought she\u2019s too old for the prom. However, Ganczewski insisted that she was his only choice.<\/p>\n

Josephine admitted she wasn\u2019t familiar with the latest dance trends but planned to do her best. She was deeply touched by her grandson\u2019s desire to make her feel special, saying, \u201cFor the rest of my life, however long that is, I will never forget that he wanted to bring his Nana and show me a good time. That, to me, is very special.\u201d<\/p>\n

As if the gesture itself wasn\u2019t heartwarming enough, Josephine\u2019s prom night ended with an unexpected surprise \u2013 Josephine was crowned prom queen, fulfilling a dream she had waited for since 1961.<\/div>\n
