The Mayo Clinic says that sarcoma is a broad term for a group of cancers that start in bones and soft tissues like muscle, fat, blood vessels, nerves, and tendons. When the cancer has spread too far from its original location and reached stage 4, it is called metastatic.<\/p>\n
Dr. Nix was seen filming a \u201cget ready with me\u201d video while sitting on the floor of her bathroom in her last, nine-minute video.<\/p>\n
In the TikTok, she started with, \u201cHello followers, if you\u2019re seeing this message, I have died peacefully.\u201d \u201cHi, my name is Kim and I\u2019m sorry you don\u2019t know me. Hello, it\u2019s great to meet you. Feel free to read all of the interesting facts and information about sarcoma, as well as my personal account of death and dying from sarcoma cancer. Since you\u2019re new, you don\u2019t have to go.<\/p>\n
\u201cI love you all, thank you so much for this amazing chance,\u201d she said. I have happy tears because you all have given me so much to look forward to at the end of my life.<\/p>\n
In the video, Dr. Nix put on her makeup and thought about all the things she had done in her life, like going to see Taylor Swift\u2019s Eras Tour. Nix also made a lot of progress in her education. When she was diagnosed, she was 28 years old and in the third and final year of her internal medicine core residency.<\/p>\n
She told the crowd, \u201cI had a beautiful life.\u201d \u201cI\u2019m so proud of it.\u201d<\/p>\n
The video got teary around the middle when Dr. Nix thought about how she was leaving her husband, whom she had called the \u201clove of her life.\u201d<\/p>\n
It was the most beautiful love, and the only thing that makes me sad about dying is that we didn\u2019t get to grow old together. \u201cThat\u2019s the only thing that really matters, so everything else is manageable.\u201d<\/p>\n
At the end of the video, she asked her viewers to donate to the Sarcoma Alliance. The website for this charity says that its mission is to \u201cimprove the lives of people affected by sarcoma through accurate diagnosis, improved access to care, guidance, education, and support.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI can\u2019t thank you all enough for your comments, which were so encouraging and made me feel like I wasn\u2019t alone in this process.\u201d \u201cThis community has meant the world to me, and I can\u2019t thank you all enough,\u201d she said at the end of the video.<\/p>\n
