Making her spouse take a lie detector test each time he returns home is a contentious and much watched practice that resulted from one woman\u2019s drastic methods to deal with her jealously.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\"><strong>Since 2011, Debbi and Steve Wood have been a couple. Debbi met Steve while residing in her home country of Scotland, through a mutual friend on Facebook. They exchanged texts for a few weeks before she made the trip to London for their first date.\u201cI knew we were meant to be a couple the moment we planted our first kiss beneath London Bridge,\u201d she remembered. After my previous relationship, I didn\u2019t intend to fall in love again, but Steve stole my heart.\u201d Their romance soon developed into something more serious, and they made plans to move in together and eventually tie the knot. Debbi acknowledged that she and Steve don\u2019t always agree, but she knew Steve was the one when he made her feel comfortable and at ease. \u201cWell, you\u2019re not going to let him go, are you, when you\u2019ve got a good man?\u201d she said in an interview with \u201cThis Morning,\u201d on ITV. But as Debbi\u2019s intense jealousy started to show, their relationship became much more difficult. Due to her Othello Syndrome diagnosis\u2014a mental illness that leaves patients believing their spouses have cheated on them without any proof\u2014Debbi has had to take extreme steps. Although Debbi was once \u201cyour average jealous female,\u201d her jealousy became more intense once she was betrayed by an abusive spouse.Steve told the \u201cThis Morning\u201d hosts that the use of lie detector testing has significantly decreased. They are carried out \u201clike once in a blue moon\u201d or \u201cas many times in a month as [they] would in a week.\u201d Steve\u2019s activities are still severely limited, though. Even though he likes to watch football and formula racing, Debbi keeps an eye on these programs to make sure he isn\u2019t staring at any of the women in the audience. Sometimes Debbi\u2019s jealousy is so strong that she forbids Steve from ever watching television. \u201cAll women have an inner beauty, but for a man, it goes beyond that\u2014it\u2019s the mental lust for a woman,\u201d the woman clarified. imagining an intimate fantasy about them rather than merely appreciating their beauty in real life.\u201d Due to her desire for control and paranoia, Debbi has made Steve subject to stringent regulations. He can\u2019t read explicit information on his phone or laptop since she put child-proof filters on them.She said that Steve would have to take a lie detector exam when he got back from even a fifteen-minute excursion to purchase milk. \u201cI get so worried that he\u2019s been eyeing up the shop assistant that I just have to know the truth.\u201d In January 2019, \u201cOnly Human\u201d released a documentary in which Debbi\u2019s jealousy was exposed when she forced Steve to take a polygraph-style lie detector test on her phone. This happened after Debbi, for the first time in eight months, was persuaded by Steve to visit their neighborhood shop. Debbi made the decision to try Steve\u2019s allegiance after they got back. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\"><strong>He said, \u201cCan\u2019t say as I did,\u201d in response to her initial question about whether he had seen any women in the store. No. Debbie spoke to him, seeming reassured, \u201cI\u2019m impressed you\u2019re telling the truth.\u201d But the app said that Steve\u2019s denial that he thought Mel B was attractive was a lie. Debbi repeatedly made him retake the exam and accused him of lying. According to Debbi, the app employed a polygraph and was at least 60% accurate.Debbi\u2019s mental health and interpersonal dynamics are further complicated by her bipolar disease and body dysmorphic disorder, in addition to her Othello Syndrome. Debbi\u2019s jealousy increased when they moved in together for the first time. Debbie started monitoring Steve\u2019s internet activities and even forbade him from viewing any material with female content. \u201cOne night, an advert for a women\u2019s razor came on television and I felt panicky thinking that Steve was eyeing the model up,\u201d Debbi recalled. She got a lie detector online because she was so jealous that she thought Steve could be daydreaming. We\u2019ve noticed Debbi\u2019s condition and activities. She alleged thereafter that she was misled in the Channel 5 documentary \u201c87 stone: Fat Chance of Work,\u201d in which she starred in 2015. She said that the documentary unfairly highlighted her weight instead of the real issues preventing her from finding employment. Debbi became even more alone as a result of the threats and hatred she received online as a result of this portrayal.Debbi clarified that although Steve was actually supporting her during a trying period, the documentary gave the impression that she was controlling him. \u201cEverything has been made overly dramatic. I can\u2019t even want to leave the house because of the horrible threats and outright hatred I\u2019ve received on social media,\u201d the woman claimed. Debbi maintains that her jealously-driven actions are essential to her mental health in spite of this. Debbi and Steve have managed to survive in spite of these drastic measures. They both play a lot of video games, which, according to Debbi, has helped her deal with her Othello Syndrome.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\"><strong> \u201cPlaying the Xbox so much has helped me get some control over my jealousy,\u201d she revealed. Instead of me becoming obsessed with what my spouse is doing, my mind has been able to wander.\u201dStudies reveal that about 15% of individuals with Othello Syndrome have acted violently against their relationships. Debbi acknowledged, \u201cI\u2019ve been driven to the brink of jealousy and have occasionally thrown things across the room.\u201d I know Steve is the one for me because he has supported me through everything, even though I put him through a lot.\u201d \u201cI believe that many ladies may be experiencing the same issue but may not be aware of it. I believe it\u2019s a result of the pressure society places on us to have a specific appearance.Others might not be as fortunate as I am that my boyfriend is so understanding,\u201d the woman continued.Although he acknowledged that Debbi may be difficult at times, Steve maintained that she was worth it. He said: \u201cMy heart pounding, I get anxious sometimes and the lie detector test comes back unclear, which makes Debbi doubt me.\u201d I simply need to assure her that I haven\u2019t cheated, and I hope she would believe me. I\u2019m ready to put up with it since I am certain that we are meant to be. I love her so much, and a little envy now and then won\u2019t change that.\u201dDebbi has decided to get gastric band surgery, which she thinks the NHS would pay for, in order to gain more confidence. \u201cI wasn\u2019t always overweight, therefore I had a modest frame. Debbi remarked, \u201cThis small frame is carrying an extra ten or eleven stone above what it should be.\u201dShe stressed how having the surgery would boost her confidence in general and her physical health in particular.
