Fox has delved deeper into the \u2018darkest moment\u2019 he has faced since being diagnosed with Parkinson\u2019s disease.The 62-year-old actor has been living with Parkinson\u2019s for more than two decades, having first made his diagnosis public in 1998.By openly discussing the impacts on his life, Fox has contributed to raising awareness for the condition that causes unintended or uncontrollable movements.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/jokesdaddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Bildschirmfoto-2023-11-11-um-22.17.59-768x781.png\" width=\"768\" height=\"781\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In 2020, the actor shared with People an ordeal from two years earlier when a noncancerous tumor was rapidly growing on his spine.He underwent surgery to prevent paralysis, and the surgeons had to be cautious during the tumor\u2019s removal to avoid further damage.After the operation, Fox had to learn to walk again, believing the worst was behind him. However, a few months later, while preparing to film a cameo in a Spike Lee movie, he fell and suffered a severe arm break.\u201cThat was definitely my darkest moment,\u201d he admitted.\u201cI just snapped. One day I\u2019ll just say, \u2018It\u2019s not going to happen. I\u2019m not going out today.\u2019\u201cIf that comes, I\u2019ll allow myself that. I\u2019m 62 years old. Certainly, if I were to pass away tomorrow, it would be premature, but it wouldn\u2019t be unheard of. And so, no, I don\u2019t fear that.\u201dA couple of years after announcing his diagnosis, Fox founded the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson\u2019s Research, aiming to fund scientists working toward finding a cure for the disease.\u201cIt seemed straightforward to me,\u201d he explained, adding that the science was \u2018ahead of the money\u2019 in terms of research.\u201cWe just have to throw the money at the right people,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cBack To The Future\u201d star Michael J.
